Redundancy

Being made redundant can be a profoundly destabilising experience – in a way that can be both shattering and creative. It can challenge an individual’s sense of identity, self worth, status, place in the world and security. It may re-activate past traumas or losses, leading to a kind of paralysis or reactive depression. However much it may not be personal, there may be feelings of anger and hurt.

It also offers an opportunity to re-imagine the future and explore new possibilities.

Counselling and Psychotherapy can provide support at a time when thinking can be difficult. It can provide a safe place to express feelings that cannot easily be shared elsewhere, as well as explore plans and strategies for moving on.
